Deby's Cotton Candy Socks

A while back I posted I was test knitting socks for a girlfriend. Well here they are! Aren't they awesome?? Actually I made two pairs. The first pair I made to send to Deby and I found an unforgiveable mistake on the botton of one of the feet. So I sent her pictures and I made a second pair to send to her. She just recieved them on Monday. I made them out of Patons Kroy Sock Yarn on size 1 needles. If you like this pattern you can purchase it at Deby's blog. At the bottom of the page she has her sales blog. Her link is on my sidebar, O/C Knitiot
Check out her patterns when you get a minute. She recently started designing her own and she is doing a great job!

On the needles is still my Pilar Sweater. I have completed the back and I am working the front now. It is a fairly quick and easy knit. I am enjoying it.

Pilar

I haven't been able to post for a while again. I completed a suprise in the last two weeks for my girlfriend that she should get in the mail tomorrow. I will post the pictures as soon as she gets it.

In the meantime I have started yet another project. This one a sweater. I am using another Berroco free pattern. I have made two other sweaters with their free patterns and liked making them. This one is Pilar. You can get this pattern at
http://www.berroco.com/exclusives/pilar/pilar.html I really liked the simple pattern that I can take to knit club and do mindless knitting and visit with friends at the same time, but it also looked like it might be a little more slimming on my chubby butt with the verticle eyelets. I hope so because I plan on wearing this one to work. I am using a 100% acrylic yarn. Patons Canadiana in cardinal red. I originally got this yarn to do the FLAK knit along. I wasn't sure if I would like the aran sweater design or not and I wasn't sure if I wanted to do something so heavy in 100% wool. As it turns out, I made about half the sweater and still didn't like the bulkiness even with acrylic. So I went to the frog pond with it and decided on a much simpler and more to my taste style. I am posting pictures of both sweaters in progress. The aran sweater is a work of art!! But not something I would wear. I can't wait to see Pilar done!

Superwash Wool

I went to a fiber get together last saturday at "A Yarn or a Tale" in Millington. Boy was that fun, and what a super nice group of girls. I bought some superwash roving to spin. The colors are more muted, off white with hints of pastels running through it. I plan on making a pair of socks with it. My handspun stash is growing faster than I can knit it.

I have been spinning so much that my knitting is suffering. The only thing on the needles right now is a pair of socks. I am finally finishing the pair of white lace socks I started a while ago. The pattern is called Memories of Alberta by Northern Sunshine Designs. I have a picture of the first sock complete back in earlier posts. My younger sister had a fit over these socks and wanted a pair for her birthday. I am hoping to get them complete this weekend.

Nightmare Yarn

Well spinning this yarn was a total nightmare for me. I learned alot and will know how to handle it next time. It sure did turn out beautiful though. I love it! The colors are pretty and it is a great novelty yarn. I think I have another scarf in the works.
